Youth Inclusion and Empowerment Network

Youth Inclusion and Empowerment Network – YIEN is an inclusive, youth led and youth serving non-profit organization that seeks to address the young people’s socio-economic status, particularly girls and young women by building sustainability, health and productivity of communities through promotion of Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights and Gender Equality, empowerment of girls and young women, promotion of Youth Livelihood and Empowerment program, quality education and sustainable Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program.

Mission

A world where young people have the opportunity to achieve their full potential and improve their health and well-being, and exercise their fundamental human rights

Vision

To empower, skill and mentor adolescents and young people particularly girls and young women to improve their socio-economic status by building sustainability, health and productivity of communities.

Goal

To end gender inequalities, reduce youth unemployment and eradicate poverty focusing on enriching young people with knowledge and enhancement of skills through Livelihood and Youth Empowerment Program.

Expanded and promoted entrepreneurship and hands-on skills development to above 679 vulnerable young people particularly adolescent girls and young women in the hard to reach local communities. These include; Tailoring, Fashion and Design, Artisan Skills training (African shoes/crafts for children and both ladies and gentlemen, belts etc), Hairdressing & Beauty Therapy, Liquid & bar soap making, the reusable sanitary pads training, paper bags training, turning polythene bags into user friendly products like baskets, wall hangings etc, business management/financial literacy, hair shampoo making, computer studies and bakery & confectionery
